When Linda was thinking about what she wanted for her brand - an authentic, sustainable and ethical distiller was pivotal for her.
Hudson’s is proudly produced by Sloemotion Distillery at Green Farm, in the village of Barton-le-Willows, just north of York and near to the market town of Malton, Yorkshire’s food capital.
Their ethos is doing things in the right way, using traditional methods combined with modern energy-saving techniques to bring great tasting, craft distilled spirits and liqueurs to the market, with a strong philosophy of respect for the environment which runs through the heart of the business.
The biggest energy usage at any distillery is the still itself. They use the energy-efficient iStill. The iStill’s design, insulation and computer controls means, using up to 10 times less energy than a traditional still, their distillery is always literally (& metaphorically) cool!
Their Head Distiller Ian uses his experience and that of his team to review existing recipes and trial new ideas using our second smaller development iStill. The core element of our spirit making is macerating or steeping whole fruit in small batches over a period of months. This lengthy process, along with regular stirring, allows the product flavour to fully develop and mature.
This is 21st century, responsible distilling at its finest!
